Our Applewood Smoked Sea Salt is cold-smoked at 90 to 125 degrees Fahrenheit using the naturally fruity and sweet wood of the Apple Tree.
Cold-smoked means that the high heat required to burn the wood is in one chamber while the evaporated sea salt is in another.
The smoke from the burning wood is then pumped into the salt chamber allowing the smoke to gently seep into every crevice until each crystal reflects a beautiful tea color and smoky aroma.
The 2-chamber process ensures that the final product won’t be brittle or have a metallic or bitter flavor.
Applewood Smoked Sea Salt is extremely versatile. It can be used in salt brines, as a curing salt, in soups, sauces, marinades, rubs, salads or simply as a finishing salt.
